My diary Comprise of two parts; The Journey to Iseyin, Oyo state on the 23rd of May. And The Camp Experience.   The  Call up letter When I received my call up letter to serve my fatherland in Imo State, I was filled with so much joy and excitement that i was finally a confirmed corps member. Part of my joy was the pride of putting on the NYSC Khaki.  It was indeed a dream come true. 1. NYSC So in case you find yourself wearing your full NYSC regalia and a Pulse TV presenter asks you, what is the full meaning of NYSC. It is not 'Now your suffering continues'. NYSC stands for National Youth Service Corps. It's a the scheme that brings together graduates from Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges around the country every year to serve their father land, usually in states other than their states of origin. 2. ORIENTATION CAMP  Service year usually kicks of with the orientation camp. It is the first stage of service, comprising of all the prospective corpers posted to a state spending three Weeks at a designated orientation camp in the State. It is a three week of great physical training, rehabilitation and preparation for the task ahead. Some may say it's pointless,but most always find it to be one of the best part of the service year.
